Key difference i that those you mention are all handhelds. So digital makes more since in that aspect. Funny you mentioning the NGP I still believe you will be making a Monthly or Yearly fee for it. Stay tune for GDC on that one.

Apple seems to be getting away with it.iPod, iPad, iPhone. Sony is following suit with the NGP, maybe its about that time.
