GamerFitNation Presents Mr. Joe Betancourt aka JVB as True Gamer of the week.

I really like the concept of GFN. Gamers are stereotyped as lazy people and GFN proves otherwise. – JVB

JVB tells us about himself. Since 1979, I have been a die hard video game enthusiast. When I first put money into the Asteroids cabinet, I knew that video games would change my life. Fast forward 31 years later, and not only am I still playing video games, but I made it a career, and an integral part of my lifestyle.

With over 6 years of community experience under my belt, I have become one of the oldest, and influential members of the Video Game community. Top that off with my voice work in video games, radio work, and industry experience (Promethium Marketing), and it’s pretty obvious that Video Games and I are inseparable.

Current Projects: Co-owner of Talkingaboutgames.com and Community manager, owner and host of the Post Game Report podcast, owner and co-host of The Bad Dudes Lifecast, voice actor – Most recent work on Tweet Defense, and Radio reporter for 850 WFTL – Report on the latest Video Game news.

JVB owns Sony PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and the DSi. The game that sparked his interest in gaming was Asteroids.

JVB tells us about his workout regimen, opinion on health and gaming, and advice to gamers. Eating the proper foods and snacking on healthy products every three hours. I also enjoying a good six mile walk three times a week. His health goal is to eat healthier.

Health and Gaming should be mentioned together. Whenever you’re playing video games for an extended period of time, you tend to workout some calories. To gamers struggling with weight issues; Stay positive and have LOTS of patience. Losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint.

Well the Microsoft Kinect, Sony Move, and the Nintendo Wii encourage movement, which is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. Even though many of the “core” gamer demographic seems to feel that motion gaming is a gimmick. These accessories can benefit the gamer by forcing them to interact with the game in a physical way.

Talkingaboutgames.com has been around for three years and has maintained one of the most active forums in the gaming community. Parris and I have 12 years of combined community experience, which is instrumental, our sites success. We also have a great writing staff that is always on top of the latest video game news.

GamerFitNation would like to thank JVB for telling GFN about himself and being a true True Gamer.
