Vitamin is D is something that we all need. We need this in order to have nice strong bones and to reduce the risk of several medical conditions, including osteoporosis, gum disease, diabetes, arthritis, and multiple sclerosis. Mothers, who get plenty of vitamin D while they are pregnant, tend to have kids with strong bones by the age of nine. It also helps lower the risk of colon cancer, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer by up to 50%. As you get older, your vitamin D level gets more important. Vitamin D helps to regulate your muscles and balance, a lack of this causes older people to fall.
So as we see, everyone needs vitamin D.
The best form of vitamin D is sunlight. But as we all know, the sun and hot. Every now and then, I enjoy working out outside and soak up the sun. Sweat is not my best friend, so I tend to hit the gym. I hate milk also so I find my vitamin D in other foods such as; eggs, cheese, shrimp, and tuna. Vitamin D is also found in cod liver oil, salmon, mackerel, sardines (Gross), margarine, fortified yogurts, fortified cereals, shitake mushrooms, and liver.
So add a little “D” to you life to keep you healthy. Doctors say you only need 15 minutes of sun a few times a week and you are set. Have “D”andy week!
