GamerFitNation Presents Amanda Brockman as True Gamer of the Week.

I think that being healthy is extremely important and as gamers we can forget the importance of eating right and working out because we would rather have more time for games. - Amanda Brockman
Amanda tells us a little about herself. I am from California. I am a gamer/Cheer coach. I was on Sony’s reality show “The Tester”. I am a Frag Doll Cadette (Girl gaming group by Ubisoft). Follow me on twitter @SoAmped33 and Youtube: TheSoAmped. I own a PS3 and PC. The game that sparked your interest in Gaming: Mario Brothers I guess.
Workout and Eating Habits: I don’t eat a lot of fast food. I try to stay away from sodas. For the most part I just enjoy healthy foods. Workout wise coaching cheer is a workout; I enjoy running every once in awhile. I walk my dog in the mountains by my house.
Health wise what are you goals: I need to get my butt to the gym even more. What I really like is joining a class or group that keeps me motivated. I have a ton of friends wanting me to join Crossfit.
Advice to gamers who are struggling with weight issues: As gamers we like challenges. Give yourself a goal… for every time you get a trophy, achievements do something athletic. This can work when you get a certain K/D ratio on a game anything can work. The other thing is try to snack on better food while playing games. I know chips and soda is easy and good but so is hummus pita and water or juice.
Opinion on Health and Gaming: I like that there is a larger selection of games that involve fitness. One of my favorite is a PSN game called Kung Fu Live… Kicks my butt! : I think the gaming industry has made mass improvements towards healthy gamers. I think they realized it was one of the biggest complaints about gaming and they are now trying to fix it. Motion technology is awesome, lets you game and workout.
GamerFitNation would like to welcome Amanda to the club! Congratulations.
