Arcade Gaming Combined With Fitness Can Make You A Healthy Gamer

Every once in a while I like to take a break from my workout routine and do something different. Believe it or not, from time to time I like going to the arcade as part of my workout! It”s not the place most would think of but hey, it’s the 21st century and gaming has come a long way.

  • Jumping Rope- Jump w/ rhythm and precision!

The point of this game is to jump over a little rotating light. Every time the light goes around it will gain speed and so should you! This game is a great form of cardio; it will leave anyone breathless and urging for more!

  • Air Hockey- Arm agility put to the test!

Air-hockey has to be my favorite game at any arcade! The game is all about reacting quickly + precise accuracy. Air hockey tests a person’s agility and reactions, so mentally and physically the player has to be thinking and moving quickly.

  • Basketball- Improve your accuracy…

It’s not the same as playing out in the court, but it still requires the player to move quick enough to beat the buzzard. Playing against someone also tends to make a person faster, so it’s a great way to have fun, do something physical, and win prizes!

  • Punching Bag- Full-on Arm and Wrist Strength!

The Punching Bag arcade game works more as a motivator. I definitely don’t want to be the dude with the lowest score when I’m at the arcade. So I’m always motivated to get stronger arms so I can get a higher score.

  • Dance Dance Revolution- Where Footwork’s put to the Test!

DDR is an easy and fun way of doing cardio,  even at the easiest level! DDR has the player constantly moving, so players know they’re gonna get a workout of playing this game!

    I have played DDR at the Arcade and i have to say it has made me sweat. What other arcade games besides the ones above have you feel like you got a workout in the arcade?
