It’s Game time you and your boy are about to get on the 360 for a little Madden 12 action. You’re finally going to get back at your big mouth, buddy/egomaniac friend Steve for that butt whipping he handed you last weekend. This is going to be a long and tough game, so you have snacks ready to go. Finally, it’s Halftime and after some hard work you are leading in points. You are halfway to finally shutting Steve’s mouth about the last game. It’s snack time and with a wounded ego Steve breaks out a large delicious DQ (Dairy Queen) Oreo Blizzard. Suddenly your hot girlfriend who Steve wishes he had brings out Carrot Sticks, yeah that’s right Carr— Wait… What? Carrot Sticks really, you couldn’t come up with a better snack then that?
Steve see the carrot stick and begins to lay down the jokes ” Carrots Huh? there’s no way I’m letting a guy who looks like a retarded rabbit beat me.” With his barrage of comments your iron will is broken and last weekend defeat is repeated. So how do you make a Healthy Snack that will taste good and provide you with good verbal ammunition? We’ll here’s a few suggestions….
Frozen Banana Popsicle
I love Ice cream, to me it’s the best desert on this great planet, but as you know we can’t eat it all the time because it contains a lot of calories. So how can you get the creaminess of ice cream without the guilt? Try making a Frozen Banana Popsicle. Slice several peeled bananas in half and insert popsicle sticks, and put the pops in the freezer. Soon you’ll have quick an easily made low-calorie treat. Also you can coat it with an ounce of low-fat plain yogurt, Chocolate, or Nuts. It may look like something you made in arts & craft class but you’ll gain a variety of low fat choice while keeping flavor on the table. Also since we tend not to keep track of our food intake while we game. So, depending on the toping you choose, calories may be no more than a 100 per severing.
You may be thinking ” Really, Mini Quesadilla’s as a Healthy Low Calorie Snack ?!” Hey, why not? try this out: sprinkle an ounce of grated low-fat cheddar cheese over a corn tortilla, fold in half and microwave for 20 seconds. This quick and tasty snack has about 100 calories. If you have time to spare and want to change it up a little, try adding spinach, peppers, sliced olives or cubed pieces of cooked chicken breast. The calories may be slightly higher but you have a tastier snack.
It’s peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time! Throughout out history P&J’s sandwich have been apart of many peoples lives. With all the Quiznos and Subways restaurants we forget about the truly health sandwich. Now most of us know how to make a P&J sandwich but for those who don’t it’s quite simple: First choice you’re bread, most P&J’s are made on white bread but if you’re trying to be a little healthier you may want to choose wheat. My suggestion is that you use a soft Honey-wheat as it carries a slightly sweeter taste to it. From there you take a butter knife and spread peanut butter on one side, Jelly on the other, then put them together. Once finished eat it the way you’ll like it, either whole, with cut off edges, cut it in half, or in squares. Heck, you can even use cookie cut outs of stars or something, but if you’re a young adult or grown man you’ll look like an a@# around your friends..
Note from that one Gamer who says: “What if I dont like peanut butter or Jelly?”
BlackBible then answers: Then substitute it! There’s no rules saying that you can’t sub out what you don’t like. So instead of peanut butter trying using Almond butter, or other nut butters, believe it out not they exist. As for Jelly try using Honey, or other fruit flavors.
The next time you and Steve decide to have a go at it on Madden and he tries to make fun of the food you eat. Tell him that your “Mini Cheese Quesadilla” taste awesome, your girls hot and if he doesn’t stop eating oreo blizzards every day hes going to turn into one. It seems Steve knows how to get in your head, but this time you’ll took ammunition out of his hands, and put it in yours. With these healthy snacks you’ll keep the pounds off without sacrificing taste and pride.
Steves either really good or you’re really bad, but at least you have your health.
