It was recently announced that CD Project Red would be bringing over their great RPG The Witcher 2 to the Xbox 360. This game stands high upon the Metacritic rankings with a high 80′s ranking. This is a pc game so how does that bode for the console version? Very well, CD Projekt Red is looking to bring over a very well transitioned experience to all of the Xbox 360 owners. That is why this game will not be just a simple port but a well-constructed installment on the Xbox 360. That’s why the game will not be releasing until 4th quarter of 2011.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is a thoroughly involving storyline that is very mature. The game is every bit as gritty and graphic as you can expect from the PC version of the game. Geralt of Rivia our main hero is coming to the Xbox 360 in full Witcher fashion. This will be a hardcore pure blooded RPG experience. The world is very interactive and alive. In the picture above you can see how the world looks.
The presentation in the game looks wonderful it maintains that beautiful and authentic middle age feel. Everything is very authentic and I can appreciate what they are doing. The combat in the game looked very on par with the PC version of the game. It still features that brutal and spectacular combat system that you would hope to expect from the game. You can attack with combos and they appear to flow very brilliantly. This game maintains the feel of middle age era combat.
We were shown a little bit of the game and to be specific an underground level with our protagonist Geralt being held captive in the castle wall. In the presentation we were shown two distinct perspectives of how you can get yourself out of the situation. You could of course exit by killing the guard or you could bribe the guard to let you out and turn the other cheek. It was really intriguing to be completely honest.
When you make key decisions on where to go it will also have a factor on the story of the game. You can choose to save someone or not. If you don’t however you will enter a different aspect of the mission to try and reach your goal another way.
CD Projekt Red is going to support the Xbox 360 just as well as they supported the PC version. While we were there, it was announced that The Witcher 2 would update the game as frequently as they can. They will also be releasing all of the DLC packs for free on the Xbox 360. A great thing to note is that all of the content and improvements made in the PC version will be present in the Xbox 360. This game is only announced for the 360 so sorry PS3 owners looks like your missing out.
Now I love RPGs and was very impressed with what I saw from The Witcher 2. This game looks like it is gonna be a smash hit when it is launched on the Xbox 360. The amount of choices that you can pick to end a mission was truly amazing. The combat is beautiful and the graphics in the game also look very great. This is one pc game that console gamers are lucky there not going to miss out on. If you like what you saw, you can like The Witcher at facebook.com/thewitcher. Let us know your thoughts below.
