by Brittanyf on June 2, 2011 at 12:00 PM EDT

This week’s True Gamer of the week is Torrence Davis!

Torrence is a writer, photographer, editor and producer. He has owned all of the following:  Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, SNES, 3DO, PS1, PS2, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PS3, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, DS, PSP, Onlive,  and Xbox. The game that sparked his interest into gaming was Pong.

Workouts/ Eating Habits

Torrence says, “[I] haven’t worked out all winter but I’ll be back in the grind soon.  Usually just elliptical and some weight training.  I eat a healthy lunch and normal dinner.” His advice to gamers struggling with weight issues is, “Go buy DDR and try to beat the Captain Jack level.” His goals health-wise are to drop about 150 lbs, buy that suit and walk like a boss.

Gaming/ Technology

Motion tech is a great movement toward using gaming as a means to get healthy, but  aside from a few Kinect and Wii games, they [the gaming industry] could care less [abut health.]”  DDR was the best thing for a gamer’s health.  The industry needs to get more involved.

GamerFitNation would like to welcome Torrence Davis to the Club.
