FIFA 12 Impressions

FIFA 12 is undoubtedly the best FIFA game to ever come out. The game play is smooth, quick, and overall offers a realistic soccer (futbol, calcio, etc.) experience to those playing the game. The AI has been improved, accuracy is more important than ever, and defending has become a whole new experience. But what has me hooked on the game has to be the Head to Head Season.

Head-to-Head Season
This new online game mode gives fans the chance to fully enjoy the game while using their favorite club-regardless of the team rating. In previous FIFA games I was always stuck playing online against teams like Real Madrid and Chelsea, while I used the LA Galaxy. FIFA has brought justice, in Head-to-Head Season. You get paired up with people of the same skill and same team rating, meaning match ups are fair.

Better Goalies
During matches there’ve been a few occasions where I’m expecting to get scored on, but out of nowhere my keeper pulls off an amazing save. I was really impressed because in the past, only big name keepers or goalies could do unbelievable saves. Now I can have better faith on Donovan Ricketts (LA Galaxy goalkeeper) unlike in previous games.

Shirt Tugging
If you’ve ever played soccer in real life, you know this happens all the time. It’s not the cleanest thing to do, but it comes in handy. I feel shirt tugging brings gamers closer to experiencing real soccer because it’s something I was always experiencing on the field and not on FIFA.

Shot Accuracy
Accuracy has never been more accurate in FIFA. In previous games taking a shot to the second post almost guaranteed you a corner kick, now your chances of scoring onto the second post are better.

Two Man Defending
This feature simplifies defending, it’s perfect! Why? I don’t always want to control the main player marking my opponent, sometimes you just know your opponent’s going for a center and this allows me to defend the player I’m expecting to receive the ball, all while keeping one of my players on the ball.

So there you have it, FIFA 12 offers a fun soccer/gaming experience regardless of your skill level or preferred team. Aside from the game itself, the cover is amazing!
Let me know what were some of your pros and cons about FIFA!
