Need For Speed: The Run

Need for Speed has been around for an outstanding amount of time. The new Title, Need for Speed: The Run, is the 18th of the franchise. The game is based on an “underground world of illicit, high stakes racing,” meaning your character is racing across the country from San Francisco to New York with stops along side Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas and other big cities. This is the first Need for Speed title to use real known locations in the game.

The police are not the only ones you have to watch out for in this game. As you race across the country crossing boarders, mountain tops, icy roads, dry desert areas, urban streets with heavy traffic, you will also be followed by racers thriving for the first place prize. There is over 300km of track in this game, three times more than Hot Pursuit. This makes Need for Speed: The Run is the biggest of the franchise. Need for Speed: The Run is the first non-shooter game to use DICE’s frostbite 2 engine. So be ready for amazing visuals and outstanding car physics. In addition to this, the game will feature Need for Speed Autolog. This is the Need for Speed franchise’s social competition network. Initially introduced in Hot Pursuit and Shift 2 Unleashed, it tracks your career completion and compares player states.

Need for Speed: The Run will be available in North America on November 15th of 2011. This one may be the best so far. What do you guys think about it? Just another racing game? Or the one you’ve been waiting for. Share your thoughts!

Honestly after playing the Demo im disappointed, the sound effects are off, and i know its a demo but  it seems like its pretty much complete and still things are missing. i think ill stick with Hot Pusuit untill th enext one comes around.

I forgot to mention the graphics, btw if you look the cars in hot pursuit look better then this ones the jagged edges on the outside of the cars make the game look outdated especially for a new engine this should scream look at me btu its the other way around, now teh environments are great.

after a long love affair with this franchise I am afraid to say it, but I think the run has lost me. It’s gone from an insta-buy to a rent and see. =)
