The Legend of Zelda is releasing tomorrow and with that said I wanted to look at 5 reasons why you should be excited for The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. Without further ado here are the 5 reasons, hope you enjoy!
#1 Art Style
Unlike most Zelda games where they have had a very similar look to one another with the exception of a few titles like the Wind Waker. Skyward Sword is looking like it will and can be the best Zelda game to date from a graphical standpoint. That is all because of the great art style that has been incorporated in this game. The colors look vibrant and the characters look well-designed and there is a great attention to detail as one could expect from this game. In my opinion this is the best looking Wii game to date.
I’ve never really been a fan of Zelda’s story because it was always Ganon kidnapped Zelda, Link must rescue princess and save the world. This is a rinse and repeat ideology from previous games. In this title however, I am really interested in this Zelda game because you have a lot of different elements that you will have to do battle with. The incorporation of having a higher world and lower world is absolutely intriguing to me as it looks to be a fresh step for the franchise in the right direction. Who knows, maybe we will be able to have some great if not better moments similar to Ocarina of Time.
I’ve always loved the open world aspect of Zelda games and this game is no different. I always go out of my way in the game to find the special sword or item to use on the final boss in the game, as it can make your life so much easier. I have high hopes for the story in this game and I hope it doesn’t let me down.
The gameplay in Zelda is what you would expect to be in a Zelda game. There are tons of time to be spent doing side quests and adventures. There is always the difficulty that is associated with The Legend of Zelda games. Aside from that, you always know what you’re going to get. What has really interested me about this title however, are the new objects, weapons, and powers that you will get.
Link is known for using many iconic weapons such as the boomerang, hookshot, and master sword. I can’t wait till fans get a chance to play with all of the new items that will available to them in game. Some of the new stuff that we have been teased with so far makes my anticipation rise greatly for this title.
#4 Wii Motion Plus
The Wii Motion is plus is a device that I feel Nintendo has really taken advantage of with the amount of flexibility that you are given with link. I love the new slash mechanic in which you actually have to defeat enemies by using a vertical slash or a horizontal slash in order to hit their weak points. I really feel that their innovating and using the Wii Motion plus in the way that it was originally meant to be used. Its purpose to me was to be a tool, to fully immerse the player into the universe that they are playing. If you own a Wii, you will know that not many games utilize the Wii motion plus and in the titles that actually do use the device, it’s a subpar experience. The titles that do use the device feel seem to just tack it on as an added feature.
The Legend of Zelda is known for creating some really interesting and both annoying characters like Navi, tingle the elf, and others. I can’t wait to see fans get their hands on the game and experience all of the new things that they have been hoping to see. This title is going to be one that really pushes the franchise into a new direction and breathe life into an already exhausted franchise in my opinion. I guess only time will tell however and that time is soon as the game releases this upcoming Sunday.
In my closing remarks Zelda Skyward Sword is looking like it it’s going to be a powerhouse contender for game of the year. I personally love all the Zelda games and grew up on many if not all of the titles. This title is near and dear to my heart so I’ll be picking this title up when it comes out tomorrow. How do you feel about the New Zelda, are you picking this title up tomorrow or passing on it?
