Steven Paul “Steve” Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs was co-founder and previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of the Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney. He died from Pancreatic Cancer on October 5th, 2011
I wanted to give it some time before I wrote this article out of respect for the late Steve Jobs. I wrote this because I feel that Gamer’s should take Steve’s dead as a sign to be more aware about their health and the health of others. Why? You may wonder, other then the obvious answers, it’s because in a weird way I feel he was one of us, an imaginative dreamer. Don’t get it twisted Gamers are some of the biggest dreamers around; in fact the industry is built on the idea’s of dreams. Think of some of the games you’ve come to love and tell me that it doesn’t take a great imaginative dreamer to create such a thing.

How about that game you’re working on currently, that gaming blog, or that job position in the gaming industry.

This all became possible because someone dreamed of a day that you’d be able to play idea’s on a video screen. Steve Jobs fought the good fight and I ask all you Gamers to never forget it! I’m asking Gamer’s to stand up and be more then a stereotype, by either donating, volunteering or spreading the word to help others gain awareness for the illnesses such as Cancer. There’re many Gamer’s out there who’s lost a love one to an illness such as a form of cancer. But among the thousand of Gamer’s who’ve suffered from lost I only hear a few doing something about it. There’re also many organization out there who are committed to fighting against these illnesses and we encourage you to seek them out. You can talk them into a game of Battlefield 3 but not into a Doctors office or Gym? Come on guys.

GamerFitNation stands with you and we ask you to stand with us. It’s time for Gamers to Change & take their health & the health of others seriously. Visit a doctor and get a physical, so if there are any issues you can catch it early enough to possibly save yourself. Also, encourage your friends to get themselves check out and live a healthier lifestyle. Though Steve Jobs was a great man you have to remember one thing. It doesn’t take a man to change the world it takes the world to change the world. Thank you for everything Steve you’ll be missed.
If you Gamer’s are looking for a good step in the right direction visit the American Cancer Society.

I ask you now to all please share your thoughts on this subject…
