Matt tells us a little about himself. I’m just your average guy who lives day-by-day hoping to make an impact in others lives. I wake up each day to better the life for me and my son and others around me. I’m originally from Palm Beach, FL. Currently living in Alabama for the time being, but hopefully I’ll be able to live right back on the beach some day. I’ve been Fire Fighter/ Medic for two years now and I wouldn’t change anything about it. I am a father as well and that to me… is a lot harder then being a Fire Fighter on occasion.
The game that sparked your interest in Gaming?: Duck Hunt, Asteroids, Mario, and the list goes on. My father was actually the one who got me into gaming as a child. He definitely was the main influence that lead me into gaming so much.
What keeps you gaming?: Haha..to keep my sanity, After rough weeks from working and fathering. Other then that…I just enjoy gaming and being able to put myself into another world where I can relax and set free all my stress.
Workout regimen and eating habits: My career definitely keeps me moving and staying fit, however I do try to eat as healthy as possible and cutting out a lot of fatty grease and unhealthy fast food. I visit the gym if not once but also twice a day. I am constantly having protein shakes, egg whites, salads, chicken breast, veggies, etc. I love to workout and I absolutely love cardio. Lately I’ve been actually biking around town instead of driving across town. Not only does it allow me to get fresh air, but I really get a nice workout and get to burn off all those terrible calories I consume every day.
Advice to gamers who are struggling with weight issues: My advice would be to never give up. I know you’ve heard that before and you probably think that it takes too long or you’ll never find the motivation to get there… but believe me as long as you work towards something and stay motivated, then you will make a change. It’s just a matter of how badly you want it. You want happiness? You change your routine and get out there. All it takes is you saying ‘No.’ Your happiness in life is all that matters, so don’t rely on others to change it or give you a sign.. YOU find the necessary steps needed to be taken in order for you to move on to a better tomorrow. Change your diet completely, research things, and find out why it’s better to change. If you don’t want to do it for anyone else, then at least do it for your own sake and so you can live a longer and much happier life. There are people out there that can help, you just have to get out there and try. I believe in each and every single person, but do you believe in yourself? Change it…..
Health wise what are you goals: Personally, I would love to gain a few more pounds and then cut for a week and get leaner. I just intend on staying motivated and pushing my body harder and harder.
Opinion on Health and Gaming: I absolutely love it! I think that a lot of gamers get a bad rep, and there’s a lot of gamers that wish they could get fit, however they can’t seem to leave the battlefields long enough to do so. It’s nice to see that we can incorporate the two and get something positive out of it.
Opinion on the current motion technology: What else can I say? As I stated previously. This is amazing and I support gaming and fitness 110%.
GamerFitNation would like to thank Matt for letting us into his world. Welcome to the club.
