Title: Prey 2
Reason: The original Prey was a great title for the Xbox 360 when it released early on in the console’s life cycle. I still have the game and play it from time to time when I get the chance. The one changing feature that has me really questioning this game is the fact that you can’t play the game as Tommy the Native American hero from the first game. He was one bad mother. Anyway, the new direction has me really intrigued, but that wasn’t the most eye opening factor in the game for me. It was the alien environments and some of the ways you healed yourself that really has me hoping this game is more of the greatness it was before on the Xbox 360. If you haven’t played Prey than I suggest you look up the game as you can find it pretty cheap on Amazon or eBay.
Release: December 31
Title: Tomb Raider
Reason: Apparently, Lara Croft has been taking notes from Nathan Drake for the new Tomb Raider game. By the looks of it, she seems to be learning well like as young grasshopper should. The game is looking great. When the game was first shown at E3 I was truly impressed and since them we haven’t seen much on the game, but I have high hopes that this title will be released in 2012. I can’t wait for Lara Croft’s new adventure and I hope everyone else is looking forward to it.
Release: December 31
Title: Halo 4
Reason: Halo is coming back to the Xbox 360 in a big way. Master Chief returns for another trilogy. We first saw the teaser trailer when it was revealed at Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2011. Now fast forward to today’s date and although we are still in the dark, one thought remains clear. Halo 4 is going to be a game of epic proportions and one that fans of the franchise are either going to love or hate. Now the next statement is a spoiler to the end of Halo 3, but I quote Master Chief when he said this “Wake me when you need me” It seems in 2012 we need him and I can say that I am personally excited for his return.
Release date: December 31
Reason: EA is bringing back its classic snowboarding game that took away days of my time from me. This epic snowboarding game is a title that made over the top snowboarding moves great to do while flying down a half pipe. Now with its return we can all get ready to rock around and get tricky. I really hope this game stays true to the original and still brings about the same fun that I had with the previous titles. I’ll be looking forward to it when this title releases around my birthday.
Release: February 28
Title: Ninja Gaiden 3/ Sigma Plus
Reason: Ninja Gaiden is a title that gamers know as being one of the most difficult and awesome third person action titles. Tecmo Koei is known for making great titles with very attractive Japanese women. This is also the truth with Ninja Gaiden 3. The game comes out early next year for the PS Vita and PS3 so, if you’re getting anyone of those platforms, you may want to check this title out. I love me some gore and guts and this title is going to be proof that they can work very well together.
Release date: March 20
Title: Grand Theft Auto 5
Reason: Grand Theft Auto 5, what can I say about this title without the risk of not sounding cliché. Well first, let’s start off with what we know about Grand Theft Auto 5. The game is returning back to San Andreas and with that my attention has risen greatly. This is all due in part that GTA: San Andreas was one of my favorite titles that I played in the GTA series and now with the franchise going back to San Andreas with updated graphics and power the possibilities are endless.
Release date: ??/2012
Hope you guys already started to save up your money because it seems like 2012 is going to be full of blockbuster titles even more so than 2011 was. I hope you all are ready because I know I will be.
