Does Mega Man Still Have A Home On Consoles?

Growing up a lot of people had certain games that will always stay etched in their hearts for years to come. It might be Mario, Metroid, Halo, Zelda, or any other great influential game that we have seen throughout the years. The game for me personally that really made me the gamer that I am today was Mega Man. I remember being that little short fat kid that would sneak in a game or two when my brothers weren’t hogging the Nintendo.

When I was growing up my brothers also tried to test my skills in gaming by allowing me to play Super Mario bros 3, Metroid, or even Mega Man. Not to toot my own horn but, at the young age of 3 or 4 years old I was very  skilled and was able to beat a few of these games as I was apparently told by my older brothers. Ever since then it was love at first playthrough with video games for me and I haven’t looked back since.

This brings me to my article today and the question that I know most gamers might have been asking themselves, Does Mega Man still have a home on consoles? The answer to this simple question is actually very complex. When you first think about it, your initially reaction might be yes or no. Frankly, that’s understandable since Mega Man Legends III was in the works for the 3DS before it was tossed into the development trash can. However, what about the possibility of having a new Mega Man on a console If possible. This may sound a little off topic on what I am discussing but, I want to get this out there before I continue, I am all for a HD Collection of the Mega Man X series. It was honestly one of my favorite series ever and I would love the possibility of owning Sigma all over again.

Now getting back to topic at hand, a Mega Man game on a console would be great for two reasons. As much as certain people don’t want to admit it Mega Man is a beloved character, second the gameplay in Mega Man has always been fun to play. Another feature of Mega Man that always had me excited about playing the games was the fact that you could always upgrade and acquire chips to modify Mega Man. Personally, I would love to see more of the X series games or even MM legends 3 not get the Duke Nukem Forever treatment.

In the end, it all falls on Capcom deciding the fate of the blue bomber. We got a Mega Man game recently, although it was strictly for the I-phone which I think is utterly idiotic. It seems like there is some incompetence going on in a company that used to be in touch with fans so many years ago. Now with titles that are geared toward making a profit and not towards fan desires, we are left waiting and hoping for some shining light to save our childhood heroes. Well, as always I would love to hear what you our readers have to say. Would you like a Mega Man HD Collection, or to see old projects be finished and pushed out?

What do you all think about Megaman? Is there hope for the blue bomber?

I will always have Megaman X’s soundtrack etched in my brain. I could sit and listen to it for hours

I hope Capcom releases an Anniversary type collection for both the Megaman and Megaman X series on the current consoles worldwide.
The original Xbox had a Megaman Anniversary Collection only in the US, but does work on a US 360 and the PS2 versions don’t run on the PoS3.

I loved MM1 and 2 on NES (one of the best NES games) but never played the others, to me the series was outdated on the SNES and never tried to play a MM game since MM2… But that’s right that MMs will always be in my heart and memory !
