2012 is officially the year that I have vowed to become healthier. NOT only because I want to stay physically fit but because I want to feed my body the nutrients it needs it order to stay healthy and live longer. My father always told me “If you take care of your body now, your body will take care of you later.” Such words I have learned to live by. Many rely on vitamins in pill form in order to give their body what it needs to fend off illnesses. Vitamins are great when something is lacking in your diet but I prefer to get the nutrients I need from food as well which is why I have invested in a new juicer.
My previous juicer was a Jack Lalanne brand juicer. I got suckered into the infomercials like a perch on a hook and thought it would be a worthwhile investment. I am super lazy when it comes to juicing and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of cutting my produce into pieces when I juice. The first juice I made was a carrot and apple juice. It did not completely pulverize my carrots or apples at all and the motor was weak. I might have used it maybe once or twice before I completely buried it somewhere in my closet. I made a second attempt to buy a juicer and this time decided on a Breville-BJE200XL-700-Watt juicer. I used it once and fell in love with it after.
The Breville-BJE200XL 700-Watt juicer has a motor so powerful I did not have to press my produce down when I juice. Not only does it have a strong motor but it is nearly as quiet as a ninja when juicing. You do not have to cut your food in pieces because it juices produce whole. I used whole apples, carrots and beets without any issues. A lot of people I know who own juicers always complain about how most of the produce goes to waste once its processed but with the Breville juicer nothing goes to waste. I have no complaints about this juicer other than the fact that I wish it were big enough for a larger pitcher. If you’re searching for a juicer that is affordable, sturdy, strong, built ingeniously with high juice extraction and will last you for a long time then this is a purchase you will not regret.
Here is one of my favorite healthy juice recipes for a burst of Energy:
1 Cup of Blueberries
1/2 cup of Strawberries
1/2 of a Small Beet
1 Cup of Baby Carrots
2 Whole Apples
Optional: Add 1 cup of Water or Coconut Water
