Why good posture is great for gamers

One of the worst things that a gamer does while playing is they slouch and contort their back in really awkward positions. Just by sitting up straight and having good posture can reap huge benefits. Correct posture is really good for three reasons first, it strengthens your core. Second, it allows more air into your lungs which means that you can think clearer. Lastly, but certainly not least, it makes you look thinner.
Your Core
When you make yourself have good posture, you are really working your core. The idea is very similar to that of a plank. By holding yourself up in a straight and correct fashion, both your abs and your lower back are working very hard to stabilize your body. If you push your shoulders back and your chest forward, then you start to engage your upper back. By aligning your upper body, you use every portion of your core in the way it was intended to be used.
Your Brain
When you sit up straight, you expand your lungs. By expanding your lungs, you allow your body more air. More air in your body means that more oxygen is getting to your brain. Because there is more oxygen in your brain, this means that you can think more clearly. Thinking clearly is crucial for all types of gamers. If you are a competitive gamer, or just like playing competitive games, being able to think better is
always a boost to your gamer.
Your Waist
Another major benefit that I have seen with good posture is that when you stand up straight with your chest out and shoulders back, you look a lot thinner. The way it makes you appear thinner is by stretching your weight over a longer area. Looking thinner is not a permanent thing, you have to keep your good posture to keep looking that good.
The hardest part about good posture is that it is hard to maintain. Good posture means that you are holding yourself up constantly. This constant work is very taxing on your core. However, over time your muscles will get stronger and having good posture will become easier, the hard part is starting.
Having good posture works your abs. It is also good for your brain, because you are expanding your lungs to allow more air in. What I think is one of the best things about posture is that it makes you look thinner. Good posture has no down sides, so it is always good to work on it.
