Mass Effect 3: Yay or Nay?

Mass Effect 3 has just released this past week and many gamers have been playing the game for hours non-stop. The Mass Effect series is one that is well- known throughout the gaming universe. This latest title has been plagued with tons of hate from apparent trolling and blatant hate that in my opinion is unwarranted for such a great game.

Commander Shepard and his crew are back for the next installment in the Mass Effect franchise.  I’ve read and covered much of this title since it was announced awhile back and it has been a pleasure to do so. I have never been one to really become immersed in the Mass Effect Universe, but I am always appreciative of the great narratives and story arcs, for which Mass Effect 3 has and does wonderfully I might add.

The biggest and most entertaining feature of this new title is one that hasn’t been synonymous with the Mass Effect franchise before and that is the inclusion of a multiplayer component. The multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 from what I have seen and played is actually quite good and a surprisingly new accompaniment to an already great game. Everything translates over very well and it runs smoothly. Although, I find this game to be great there are others who would disagree with me.

Now, I want to reiterate that I have never been a fan of the Mass Effect 1 or 2, but I know a great title when I see one and Mass Effect 3 is just that a great game. I really don’t see where a lot of the hate is coming from towards Bioware. There really seems to be something going on behind the screens whether its people trying to sabotage the company which frankly will not work or maybe there is actually genuine users that do not like the game. That is always a possibility with a game like this.  Well, whatever the case may be there is one thing that I know for sure, when it comes to Mass Effect 3 even though I am not a fan I’m giving it a big fat Yay!  I enjoy games similar to this so I know that I am going to enjoy this when I get a chance to pick up a copy.

Well, whether you purchased the game or not, let us know your thoughts. Are you loving the game or are you disappointed in this title and the way content has been implemented by Bioware?

It’s a good game. The combat controls are a little sloppy and there are a few things with that aspect I find somewhat frustrating, but if you did play the first two, you are at a great advantage. ALSO with so many options and ways to play, the replay value is good.  IMO.

All of the hate for the game that I’ve seem stems from the endings. They are sloppily written, lazily done (it’s the same ending 3 times, with mere color swaps). And ignore one of the fundamental aspects of the game: your choices are supposed to matter. If every choice leads to the same thing, that isn’t being honored.
