As every gamer should know by now, E3 2012 is just right around the corner. Game companies from all around the world will be there to showcase what they have for in store for the 2012-2013 season. One of the biggest companies there will be, of course, the mega corporation, Nintendo. Many people are excited to know about what Nintendo has up their sleeves this year for E3. Whatever they do have to offer, I’m sure most will not be disappointed.
Wii U
Most of us already know the new console, Wii U has been confirmed to release this year. One thing that most fans are dying to know is what the price will be and when will it be released? Well, according to an article found at geek.com, it states “They have learned that the total cost of the Wii U components, including the controller, is $180. The cost of the controller alone is $50. As for a price point, Nintendo wants to launch at $300, which would give both Nintendo and retailers a share of the $120 profit margin, but realistically it will be much less than that when taking into consideration packaging costs, distribution, and marketing.” This is a reasonable price when you think about all the controller capabilities. If this console is as great as they make it seem it is, then I might have to fork over a few dollars to get it. As far as the release date goes, Nintendo has only confirmed that it will be in stores by Autumn of 2012. So we might be looking at a October – November console release.
Wii U Launch Titles
-Dead Space 3 may be confirmed as a Wii U title.
-Dragon Age 3 may be confirmed as a Wii U title.
-Everyone is so hyped to see what is next in the Mario world. At least I know I am. With the release of the Wii U it is only right to launch the console with some sort of Mario title. Whether it be Mario Golf, Paper Mario or Mario Galaxy, I’m sure Nintendo will not let their fans down.
-Pikmin 3 would be an awesome release for the Wii U. Skipping an entire generation of consoles, unfortunately the Wii never got to see this franchise in action. But with a brand new console to be experimented with, I believe Pikmin should definitely return with another long awaited sequel to the stunning game.
Nintendo App Store
This has been a rumor that has been going around since the release of the 3DS. Nintendo may be ready to launch a full out Nintendo App store for their products. This can be a major breakthrough for Nintendo if gamers are able to download their old classics for other Nintendo consoles and play them on their new 3DS or Wii U console. I am very excited to see what Nintendo wants to do with this App store.
