I got to see a brief demo of XCOM: Enemy Unknown at E3 2012, while it wasn’t a long demo I was still impressed. The fact that you could strategically take control of your army on and off land was impressive. The game itself has amazing art work and a classic look to what many people would picture an alien invasion would look like. The game looks to stay true to its retro format only with far more options, insanely better graphics, and audio that brings you into the intensity of the invasion. It looks to be like it’s going to be a fun game for fans of the original XCOM game as well as for new comers. For those newly being introduced to XCOM, here’s a little bit about what you should expect.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown places you with a secret organization called XCOM. In the game you take the place as commander for XCOM, and your job is to defend against a global alien invasion by strategically using your resources, advancing your technology, and strategizing combat moves.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown will stay true to the original nature of XCOM, but still expand on what makes XCOM the remarkable game it was with a new invasion story, enemies and technology.
