Alien Spidy: New Game From Kalypso is Out of This World

In a recent press release, Kalypso Media announced their newest game, Alien Spidy, a digital action-adventure game starring a swinging spider. The game will be available in North America this fall for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 30 videogame and entertainment system for Microsoft, PlayStation Network, Mac, and Windows PC.

Kalypso Media also unveiled a new trailer for the game to illustrate it’s new look and launched an interactive website.

According to the press release, Alien Spidy engages players to step into the web of an alien spider whose space ship crash-landed on Earth. Spidy must rebuild his ship and rescue his mate, Virgi, before he can chart a course back home. Gamers of any age will find the web-swinging mechanics and beautifully illustrated environments appealing, but the increasingly difficult levels will engage the more hardcore players.

“We believe Alien Spidy is a gem of a game,” said Jonathan Hales, Managing Director, Kalypso Media Digital Ltd, according to the press release. “With its quirky lead character and broad accessibility, this title is extremely fun to play for any age. As players get deeper into the later levels, however, they’ll find it gets tougher. We really want to challenge the hardcore gamers.”

There are more 60 levels and three distinct landscapes, zooming down to the insect-level in forests, Lilli pads, and through caves. Enemies large and small, traps and tricks, and surprises are in every level.

Alien Spidy will be available at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany (August 15-19, 2012) and at PAX Prime in Seattle, WA (August 31-September 2, 2012).  Please visit www.alienspidy-game.com/us/.
