According to a recent press release, the fan-favorite app Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies has been released for Android. The app is based on the popular Zombies mode from Treyarche’s and Activision’s record setting hit Call of Duty: Black Ops. Ideaworks Game Studio adapted the game, and Glu Mobile, Inc, will distribute it in partnership with Activison. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies delivers exciting new maps: Kino Der Toten, Ascension, and Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut. Also included is “Dead-Ops Arcade,” a 50-level zombie gauntlet that provides the player with the ultimate Zombie challenge usually, which fans have come to expect from Call of Duty’s signature Zombie action. Gamers can destroy zombies solo or with a team of up to four players via Wi-Fi with weapons and perks only available in the Call of Duty zombie experience.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies on Android will be available exclusively for 30 days on Sony Xperia smartphones as well as Sony’s Xperia Play Optimized devises. This includes the Xeperia PLAY, with its dedicated gaming keypad, and the acclaimed Xerpia S and Xerpia Ion.

“We’re delighted to bring the blockbuster Call of Duty(r) franchise to Android smartphones and Xperia for the first time. And what better way to make this introduction than with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies,” stated Tim Harrison, Head of Content Marketing and Strategy at Sony Mobile, according in the press release. “There’s nothing else in this world or the underworld like Call of Duty. We can’t wait to unleash Zombies to our fans.”

In-app purchases allow gamers in single-player mode to enhance their zombie-bashing experience by unlocking a additional areas and securing better weapons in less time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is adapted from Call of Duty: Black Ops by Ideaworks Game Studio and disturbed by Glu Mobile. Call of Duty: Black Ops is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. Call of Duty: Black Ops is rated “M” for Mature by ESRB.
