Frima Studio Games Fall Preview

On August 22, I had a chance to sit down with the team from Frima Studio to talk about their upcoming games this fall.  After getting the inside scoop on the titles, I only need two words to describe my experience: PURE FUN.

If you’re not too familiar with Frima organization, they are a Canadian-owned game studio that does an incredible job when it comes to smart, fun, and face-paced gaming.

I was introduced to five games that are all set to release roughly within the next month.  I had my chance to get hands-on with all but two.  Here’s the rundown.

The CosmoCamp Series
Genre:  Edutainment Activities & Games
Platforms:  iPad, Android tablets (including Kindle Fire)
Age Rating:  Toddlers & Preschoolers (Age 2-5)
Price:  $3.99 each
Release Date:  September 6

The CosmoCamp is specifically designed to stimulate the imagination.  Frima worked to craft a brand and characters that appeal to two main development stages: toddlers (age 2-3) and preschoolers (age 4-5).  The game features 3 reading modes, and even includes parental tips & tricks to help accelerate your child’s learning curve.

Rock Paper Sumo
Genre:  Tactical Sumo
Platforms: Facebook
Age Rating:  Everyone
Price:  FREE
Release Date:  Closed Beta September 13

Rock Paper Sumo is a facebook only game.  Your goal?  Fight to be number one at one of the most classic games of all time, ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS!  Facebookers are able to play in single player or multiplayer modes, as well as customize their own sumo with over 200 items.

Nun Attack
Genre:  Tactical Action
Platforms iPhone, iPad, Android
Age Rating:  Teen 13+
Price:  $0.99
Release Date:  September 27

That’s right, Nuns with Guns.  Frima gives Apple and Android users a chance to join the fight between good and evil in this exciting and humorous game.  Nun Attack gives users 4 players to choose from, each with a unique personality and super power.  With around 40 missions, 80 different weapons, and 50 achievements to unlock, Nun Attack delivers hours of entertainment fending off waves of enemies and bosses.

Lights, Camera, Party!
Genre:  Fast-Paced Party Game
Platforms:  PlayStation 3: PS Move
Age Rating:  E10+
Price:  $29.99
Release Date:  August 28

Lights, Camera, Party! is a fast-paced, motion-controlled, multiplayer for friends and family.  Exclusively for the PlayStation 3: PS Move, this game gives players 3 modes, 50 fast-paced party games, a dozen trophies and 200 in-game achievements.  8 players will be able to compete locally, with only 1 PS Move controller required!  The graphics are powered by the Unreal engine, which takes the very funny animations to a completely new level.  With the possibility of future downloadable content, Lights, Camera, Party! will keep the party going for hours!

A Space Shooter Blitz
Genre:  Arcade, Action
Platforms: iPhone, iPad, Android, Facebook
Age Rating:  Teen 13+

Release Date:  September 20

A Space Shooter Blitz provides sharp, modern graphics with retro arcade mechanics.  The cross-platform gameplay allows players to track their progress, scores, and achievements from one platform to the next.  Weekly leaderboards, hotseat challenges, and daily lotteries for bonus tokens and remnants will keep users engaged no matter where they are.
