Street Fighter is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary!  Fans of the beloved Street Fighter series have enjoyed over two decades of intense gameplay and fascinating characters.  This past weekend, on August 11 and 12,  the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Tournament made its second qualifying stop in Manhattan, New York.

The tournament hosted some of the best players in the country, and was fast paced and extremely competitive. Gamers were able to compete in one of four different Street Fighter games: Street Fighter x Tekken, Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, and Street Fighter 2 HD Remix. The winner of each would take home up to $2,500 in cash, and earn a trip out west to compete against the best Street Fighter gamers in the world on December 8, in San Francisco.  The grand prize winner will receive the keys to a custom designed Scion FR-S Sports Coupe courtesy of Capcom, Scion, Five Axis and Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA).

Notable attendees at the New York tournament were CJ Peters of Konsole Kings, Lissarette Vasquez of The Tester: Season 3,  and Justin Wong (one of the best gamers in the world).
