Ubisoft Announce New Bass Expansion DLC For Rocksmith

Ubisoft have announced the bass as a playable instrument for Rocksmith with their new Bass Expansion DLC for Rocksmith on the PS3 and Xbox 360 for $29.99, available August 14, 2012.

All 53 tracks on the original Rocksmith will now feature bass, as well as any previously purchased DLC.
Like the guitar version of Rocksmith, this DLC is aimed for bass players of all levels- from newbies to experienced players. This game helps bassists of all levels improve on skills like 2-finger plucking, slapping, and popping with their technique challenges, tutorial videos, and mini-games.

For those wanting the new expansion but don’t have a bass guitar, no problem! Remember those last four strings (E, A, D, G)  on the guitar? They are the same for the bass! So gamers with a six-string guitar can use their  six-string guitars to emulate a four string bass. Of course there’s nothing like playing an actual bass guitar, but the option to use your guitar is still pretty sweet!

Rocksmith is the first and only video game that lets players play a real guitar or bass by plugging a 1/4? input jack into their Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC. Rocksmith automatically adjusts to the player’s skill level and engages with both experience musicians and those picking up a guitar or bass for the first time. Players can choose from actual lead, rhythm, and combo guitar compositions, making it more encouraging to play even after you’re done playing on your console.
