Zach Wigal founded Gamers Outreach to help bring video games to hospitals so that kids could be entertained during their stay in the hospital. The company has developed a mobile station that houses a television, an Xbox 360, games, and controllers so that games can be transported around the hospital with ease. It’s a great way for kids to have fun while they are in a prolonged stay in the hospital for treatment. It also allows family members to play with their kids and for all of them to have fun while doing so.

It can be difficult for a child who stays in a hospital for long periods. Studies have shown that a patient’s mood can affect recovery while in a hospital. If a patient is happy and has a great outlook on recovery, then recovery will be faster, but a poor outlook can have the opposite effect. Gamers Outreach tries to promote children’s outlook through video games. It’s a great way for families and children that may have no other means to play with each other to interact, ideally benefiting the children’s recovery. Hopefully, Gamers Outreach will expand to every hospital nationwide because it is an amazing organization that does a lot of great work.
