In the gaming world there are many games that have made deep, lasting impressions on their players. Classic, essential games that just can’t be missed without losing some serious gamer credibility. One such game has enjoyed absolute success since the release of its first installation in 1997. It has revolutionized the gaming world from top to bottom and continues to scandalize the general public. We’re talking about the one, the only Grand Theft Auto.
The most recent game in the series Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) was launched last October for PS3 and Xbox 360. The game has been extremely successful, winning many awards and breaking sales records. But how did the best selling game of 2013 fare in Spain?
Spaniards might have been some of the very first gamers to get their hands on GTA V. Despite the release date being scheduled for September 17th, some Spanish stores started to sell the game earlier. A lot of Spanish gamers who had pre-ordered the game received a call from stores confirming that the game was already available for purchase.
“Long lines of people were seen in stores wanting to buy this highly anticipated game and then go home and play for hours on end,” said Lorenzo, a veteran Spanish gamer. There was so much hype surrounding GTA V that many copies of the game were purchased only to be resold on the street. Legally or not, anyone and everyone who wanted a copy of the game could get it.
Now many people are wondering whether GTA V is going to be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and even for PC. Rockstar Games hasn’t made any official statements regarding the future of GTA V, but there are rumors and leaks aplenty. Regardless, it seems unlikely that GTA V would be as successful if released on next-gen consoles. Simply put, those gamers that wanted the game already bought it for their older consoles. Releasing a PC version, however, could prove promising by opening up GTA V to the PC gamer market. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with Grand Theft Auto V, but in the meantime, make your voice heard! Do you want to see GTA V come to next-gen consoles or PC?
