Shaquille O’Neal has launched a crowdfunding campaign for Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, successor to the infamous Shaq Fu.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is being crowdfunded on Indiegogo.
The game will be developed by Big Deez Productions.
It will feature a soundtrack of remixed versions of O’Neal’s own music from his rap career, including a remake of “Don’t Stop the Reign.” The soundtrack will be created by Steve Molitz.
The game is a beat-’em-up that pits Shaq against an enemy called Black Star Ninja who controls legions of ninja assassins. Players will battle through destructible environments such as the slums of Asian cities, rooftops of skyscrapers, seedy nightclubs and crowded markets.
The game will feature a progression system. Shaq’s appearance and skills will be customizable using pickups found throughout the game’s levels. Players will be able to unlock hundreds of combat moves.
Those who participate in the crowdfunding campaign have the chance to win a few unique prizes, like playing basketball with Shaq on his own court at his house, signed original size 22 Shaq Attack sneakers, a personalized voicemail recorded by Shaq, lunch or dinner with Shaq, or the ability to participate in the taping of a TNT NBA show.

“I’ll admit it, Shaq Fu was a horrible game. I’m a huge fan of videogames and want to have my name associated with a Shaq Fu game that I’m proud of and would like to play,” said O’Neal. “This is my second chance and it’s even better this time since I’m able to partner with the fans to make this happen.”
Big Deez Productions is made up of developers who worked on recognizable titles like the Halo series, Street Fighter, Max Payne, Duke Nukem and Madden.
Indiegogo is a crowdfunding site that has launched campaigns from around the world.
