Mortal Kombat X release date is finally set. The classic fighting game franchise development by NetherRealm Studios, is scheduled for release worldwide April 14, 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
The long-awaited news was announced was made today by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirming the official release date, along with a surprising pre-order DLC character: Goro.
Leading up to the announcement, Mortal Kombat X creator and creative director Ed Boon gave teases of Goro’s return with a series of tweets, one including the original statue of Goro himself:

The four arm Shokan, known as the sub-boss everyone hated from the first Mortal Kombat, joins the rest of the classic characters announced for return, such Kano, Raiden, Sub-Zer0, and Scorpion.

The excitement and anticipation from Goro fans has finally been answered. Goro hasn’t been a playable character since 2006’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Goro was also the sub-boss in 1997’s Mortal Kombat 4. No additional announcements have been made as to if the character will just be an added on bonus, be up for grabs as a purchase in the future, or even play a role within the storyline.
A trailer for Goro has not been release yet with the announcement, but we will keep you posted as more Mortal Kombat X news roll in. ‘Who’s Next? ‘ Well, we cannot wait to see!
